Smith And The No. 7 Team Celebrate Natiowide Children's Hospital Chevrolet Camaro

Regan Smith and the No. 7 team will help bring awareness to Nationwide Children’s Hospital and celebrate Patient Champion, Hannah Hiller this weekend with a special paint scheme at Mid-Ohio. Hannah, a 6-year-old from Guilford, N.C., was born with a cleft lip. She has since been helped with surgery at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She still faces more surgeries in the future, but this weekend the happy and healthy Hannah will be a special guest of Smith at the track. The No. 7’s brightly-colored paint scheme incorporates three of Hannah’s favorite things: hearts, zebras and the color pink. “My mentality coming into this weekend is that we’re coming here to gain points on all our competitors. When I say road racing isn’t my forte, that doesn’t mean I’m not 100 percent confident when I get out there. We’ve ran solidly in the top five for the majority of both races at Road America and Watkins Glen. We’re coming with the mentality that this is an opportunity to gain points, just like every week is, but it pays the same 47 points to win here or anywhere else.“I really like the pink paint scheme we’re running for Nationwide Children’s Hospital this weekend. It definitely will stand out on the track, but that was the point. It’s for a great cause and we’re excited to have our special guest, Hannah, there too.”

The Nationwide Series makes its debut at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend with the inaugural Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200. Located in Lexington, Ohio, the 2.258-mile 13-turn road course is only 60 miles north of Nationwide Insurance’s headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Smith’s fourth-place effort last week marked his career-best finish at a road course. Even better, it came at his home track of Watkins Glen International.
