Smith Still In Points Hunt

Clean Coal Chevrolet

After commanding the Nationwide Series points lead for 10 weeks this summer, Smith and the No. 7 team faded to fourth, but have since climbed back to the third position. Smith is a mere 26 points out of the top spot with eight races remaining until the season’s conclusion.

“We tested at Chicago a few weeks ago and that gives us a good perspective on where we need to be as far as our race setup. Add in the info we took away from the race back in July and our Clean Coal team is in solid shape for a strong run. We’re at the point now where it’s imperative we get the best finish and all the points we can each week. There aren’t too many races left in this championship battle and you don’t want to be the team making mistakes. Sometimes these races can be more mentally challenging than anything.”

CLEAN COAL RETURNS
Clean Coal returns to the No. 7 car as primary sponsor for the first time since the season opener at Daytona International Speedway. This will be its final paint scheme of the season. The American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE) supports energy policies that balance coal’s role in supplying the United States with affordable and reliable electricity.
