Smith Welcomes Fire Alarm To Charlotte

No. 7 Fire Alarm Services Chevrolet Camaro

Fire Alarm Services, Inc. will see its first primary paint scheme of 2014 with the No. 7 this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. A key partner of JR Motorsports since 2013, Fire Alarm is based in the Denver suburb of Arvada, Colo., and provides customers with a single provider for all their fire alarm, electrical, security and fire suppression needs.
“Things have been going well for our Fire Alarm team. I think once we got through those first few races of the season, we’ve really seen things start coming together. Thanks to a solid run at Iowa, we’re still right there in the hunt of the points, which is good considering we haven’t run as great as we want to through the first nine races or so.”

“I’m looking forward to Charlotte. We had a great effort going there last fall, our pit strategy just didn’t work out with that late caution. We still want a little more speed out of our car at some of the intermediate tracks. Certainly have had that at times, and unfortunately don’t always get the finishes we deserve. We have been steadily improving and that’s a good sign. You want to run your best at the end of the year not the beginning.”

This weekend the Fire Alarm Chevrolet will showcase a patriotic theme as part of the “NASCAR: An American Salute” initiative surrounding Memorial Day. The No. 7 will pay homage to active troops, veterans, families and fallen heroes through a striking display of stars and stripes.

Smith has amassed two top-10 finishes in two starts at 1.5-mile tracks this season. His average finish in those races is 8.5. Additionally, JR Motorsports has notched four of its 16 wins in NNS competition at 1.5-mile facilities (Atlanta Motor Speedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway).

In his last outing at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Smith led 28 laps and was poised for a solid finish with the No. 7 Chevrolet. An ill-timed caution on lap 157 soured the team’s chances of victory.

JR Motorsports’ annual Fan Days are this Thursday, May 22 and Friday, May 23 at its Mooresville, N.C. headquarters. The festivities will include giveaways, partner displays and other activities for fans.
