Smith In The Dash 4 Cash Running At New Hampshire

No. 7 Chevrolet

Smith joins fellow NNS competitors Jeremy Clements, Ryan Reed and Ryan Sieg as drivers to qualify for the first round of the Nationwide Series’ Dash 4 Cash program, beginning this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The highest finisher of the qualified group at New Hampshire will win $100,000 and automatically advance to the next round at Chicagoland, along with the next three highest finishing NNS regulars. The same rules will apply to the next three events at Chicagoland, Indianapolis and Iowa. If the same competitor sweeps the first three events and then wins the Iowa race outright, he is eligible for an additional $600,000, bringing the total payout to $1 million.

“Being part of the Dash 4 Cash program is really cool. We missed out on it last year and it was disappointing because I really wanted to be in the running for $100,000. It’s exciting. Nationwide does a great job promoting our series and the Dash 4 Cash adds a whole other level. As competitors we all want to win, but this definitely puts a larger spotlight on these next four races.“

“New Hampshire can be a tricky place to get your car setup properly. Sometimes the flat tracks are more challenging than others because you don’t have the banking that we’re used to. We came out of there with an eighth-place finish last year and I’m certain our TaxSlayer team can improve on that this time around.”

With his runner-up finish at Daytona, Smith regained the Nationwide Series points lead by 12 markers over Elliott Sadler. Smith has held the top spot after 10 of 16 races this season.

Smith’s most recent start at New Hampshire Motor Speedway resulted in an eighth-place finish, a career best in three Nationwide starts at the facility.

Dating back to 2013, Smith holds seven starts at one-mile facilities in NNS competition with JRM. He has earned top-10 finishes in five of those starts (Dover International Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Phoenix International Speedway) and earning an average finish of 9.3.

Fans are invited to join Regan Smith for an autograph session on Saturday, July 12, beginning at 12:50 p.m. EST at the JR Nation merchandise hauler in the New Hampshire Motor Speedway fan concourse.
