“Phoenix is another strong racetrack for the 7 team and we need to capitalize on that. I enjoy racing out there and I think the short-track feel of that place will be a welcomed change from the past few weeks of mile-and-a-half tracks. I had one of my best runs out there last fall and hope to continue that this weekend.”

“I’m also excited to be running a special paint scheme for the Fire Alarm folks. They’ve been strong supporters of our program at JR Motorsports and I would like nothing more than to get them in victory lane with the special blue and orange colors we’ll have on board this weekend.”

FIRE ALARM GOES RETRO AT PHOENIX
The Fire Alarm Services ride will pay tribute to the company’s hometown of Denver and its beloved professional football team this weekend with a special paint scheme. Featuring the throwback colors of orange and blue, the paint’s tinge will accent the No. 7 – an iconic number among Denver football fans.

RACING IN THE DESERT
With a fourth-place effort in the No. 7 machine at Phoenix last fall, Smith secured his career-best finish at the facility. In three starts there for JRM, he holds one top-five and two top-10 finishes with an average finish of 7.6.

CHASSIS INFO: Smith will drive chassis No. 852 this weekend at Phoenix. Smith piloted this chassis to one top-five and six top-10 finishes in its seven starts this season.
